Remember to mourn all innocent
victims of war.
I'm thankful for the many beautiful commemorations of the 9/11 tragedy that took place last week.
Attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania killed around 3,000 innocent people.
As a result of the toxic air caused by the destruction in New York City, the health of many more people was permanently damaged. It is appropriate to commemorate these events and to lift up their victims by name, as was done at many of these commemorations.
Watching these events brought to mind similar scenes of people amidst the rubble of destroyed cities in Ukraine, Gaza and the West Bank sobbing for loved ones killed in war. I hope and pray that we who mourn and commemorate the loss of 3,000 innocent fellow Americans in 2001 will also mourn the deaths of tens of thousands of these fellow human beings, most of whom were equally innocent.
I also hope we will bombard our political leaders with messages demanding they do everything in their power to end these wars, which are killing our siblings and destroying our planet.
